Term
Radicalization
Used about the process where individuals or groups become increasingly extreme. The Norwegian government defines radicalization as a process where a person's tolerance for the use of violence in order to reach a political goal, increases. The term is also used about a shift towards a more polarized worldview consisting of friends and enemies. To be radicalized is not the same as being radical. The latter could refer to political views or a vision for society that is fully accepted.
